Lash Lift vs Lash Extensions: Pros, Cons, and Which to Choose
Two very different approaches to beautiful lashes. We help you figure out which one fits your lifestyle and lash goals.
Lash Lift vs Lash Extensions: Which Is Right for You?
Both treatments will give you longer-looking, more open eyes — but they work completely differently and suit different lifestyles. Here's an honest comparison.
Lash Lift: Your Natural Lashes, Enhanced
A lash lift uses a chemical process to permanently curl your natural lashes from the root. The result is wide-eyed, mascara-free length — using only what you already have.
How it works: A lifting solution softens the lash structure; lashes are set over a curved silicone rod, then neutralised to hold the curl.
Results: Your lashes appear 20–30% longer (it's optical — the curl reveals more of their length). Eyes look more open and awake.
Maintenance: Very low. You just live your life. Brush lashes each morning, avoid rubbing, and avoid waterproof mascara.
Longevity: 6–8 weeks.
Price at our Doral studio: From $85.
Best for:
- Low-maintenance lifestyles
- Clients who already have decent lash length and curl
- Anyone hesitant to commit to extensions
- Active lifestyles (swimmers, athletes)
- Those who prefer a minimal-beauty approach
Lash Extensions: Custom Length, Volume, and Style
Lash extensions add individual synthetic fibres to each natural lash, allowing complete customisation of length, curl, thickness, and style — from the most subtle Natural set to dramatic Mega Volume.
How it works: Each natural lash is individually isolated; a single extension (Classic) or handcrafted fan (Volume) is bonded with medical-grade adhesive.
Results: Completely customisable. You can achieve lengths and volumes impossible to reach with your natural lashes alone.
Maintenance: Higher. Refills every 2–3 weeks, daily cleansing, and some product restrictions.
Longevity: 2–3 weeks between refills; full set replacement every 6–8 weeks.
Price at our Doral studio: From $130 (Natural set).
Best for:
- Clients who want a significant, noticeable change
- Those who want to skip mascara entirely
- Anyone who loves having "done" lashes at all times
- Clients with sparse, light, or fine natural lashes

Can You Get Both?
Not at the same time — a lash lift on extensions doesn't work, and adding extensions to lifted natural lashes can affect results. Choose one treatment at a time.
Many of our Doral clients alternate: extensions for events or seasons when they want maximum impact, and a lift when they want a break and something lower-maintenance.
